"Laura calls herself a writing teacher, but writing is just the vehicle. What she really teaches is transformation." --Bonnie Harris

“Laura is an incredibly gifted and talented writer and teacher. Her compassionate, no-nonsense approach provides a safe container for her students to explore their innermost landscapes. I loved the camaraderie and the encouragement I felt in her writers’ group.” --Michelle Walters

This 10-day-trip is perfect for writers looking for a nurturing, culturally rich excursion that combines travel, deep relaxation and daily opportunities to write with master teacher Laura Davis. While delving into the sun-soaked Tuscan countryside, we will use writing practice, yoga, and mindfulness meditation as touchstones as we explore the cultural wonders of an amazing region celebrated for its history and food.

We will stay at a majestic 15th century estate located on the rolling hills of the Italian countryside above Florence. With its crystalline pool, groves of olives, vineyard, centuries-old gardens, and terrace overlooking the river valley, the Villa I Bonsi creates a magical and charming home base for relaxing and exploring the area.

Our mornings will start will yoga and mindfulness meditation followed by a writing workshop, an elegant lunch, then a chance to relax and an outing in the late afternoon. Activities include an olive oil making tour, truffle hunting, a wine tasting tour, a trip to a medieval castle, cooking lessons, and a day trip to San Gimignano with its tower houses and the unforgettable view from its hilltop setting.

Spouses and non-writing friends are welcome to join us.
