"Laura calls herself a writing teacher, but writing is just the vehicle. What she really teaches is transformation." --Bonnie Harris

This 15-day-trip is perfect for writers who are looking for a culturally rich excursion that combines travel, adventure, and daily opportunities to write with master teacher Laura Davis. This in-depth exploration of Peruvian culture will use writing practice and yoga as daily touchstones as we actively explore the cultural, spiritual and artistic treasures this magical country has to offer.

We will explore Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of Peru. There is no landscape or culture on earth like the one that will greet you deep in the Sacred Valley, tucked in the Andes between Cusco and Machu Picchu. Formed by the Urubamba River, this valley was the fertile and spiritual base of the Incan Empire. Over 50% of the population is indigenous, carrying thousands of years of wisdom born from living closely with the land and working the terraced mountain slopes.

This trip is for writers seeking an experience that is physically vital and intellectually stimulating. Itinerary includes a 8-day stay at Sach’a Munay retreat center, rituals facilitated by a local shaman, excursions to the ruins of Pisac, Maras, and Moray, a picturesque train ride through the mountains, a trip to Machu Picchu, a visit to a women’s weaving collective, and opportunities for exploring, hiking, and rest. An optional 5-day extension trip into the Amazon is available. Spouses and non-writing friends are welcome to come. 41 CEUs.
